We Need Volunteers!

Since the inception of our event 30 years ago, Lakewood on Parade has been completely planned, organized, and hosted by civic minded volunteers who love to get together and throw this once a year party for the citizens of Lakewood and our surrounding community!

There are no paid staff at any level within our organization, and any proceeds that exceed the reserve fund, go to fund scholarships for local Lakewood students.

FIRSTeam - This is the group that meets monthly beginning in August to plan, organize and perform the activities required throughout the year to make the event happen.  During the early months it generally involves around 2-10 hours per month.  A few months before the event, as more time is needed in can increase to somewhere between 5-20 hours per month.  If you are interested in joining the FIRSTeam, contact Don Scanga, or anyone on Our People Link of this site.

VOLUNTEER Team - We need volunteers the most for the actual day of the event.  Our Event Team volunteers provide assistance in a variety of different ways.  They can assist with the various Children Art Projects, The Rides, directing traffic in the parking lot, staffing the information center, and helping FIRSTeam members in their specific areas of responsibilities.
